Brownley Joins Congressional Race

Assemblywoman Julia Brownley is joining the race for the new 26 Congressional District.

The district includes Westlake Village and most of Ventura County with the exception of Simi Valley.

Brownley lives in Santa Monica but has represented parts of Ventura County in the 41st Assembly District for the past five years.

Brownley says she plans to move into the new district even though it is no required.

The Democrat decided to run after Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett dropped out of the race.

Bennett has offered Brownley his endorsement.
