Police Investigating Laundry Room Burglaries

San Luis Obispo - San Luis Obispo Police are investigating a rash of laundry room burglaries that have been occurring since Oct. 1.

Police officials say 16 laundry room burglaries have occurred in the southern part of the city at apartment complexes. The suspect uses tools to rip the metal coin boxes apart, cuts the water lines and turns machines upside down to access the coins.

The suspect is being described as either a White or Hispanic male, dark hair, late 30's or early 40's and 5-feet-9 inches tall. The suspect was also seen fleeing one of the scenes on a BMX type bicycle when confronted by a witness.
