Man Injured After Plane Crash

Written by KEYT Assignment Desk

Paso Robles - A pilot from Visalia, Calif. is in the hospital after his plane went down in Paso Robles early this morning.

It happened around 4:20 a.m. just north of the Paso Robles Airport.

San Luis Obispo Sheriff's officials say the pilot experienced mechanical problems in heavy fog and was able to put his plane down in a plow field.

The man lucked out and missed crashing into trees, a thick fence and a vineyard.

The pilot suffered a moderate head injury and his brand new Piper Matrix plane is likely a total loss.
