Judge Rules Against PG&E

Written by KEYT Sports

A judge with the California Public Utilities Commission denied a request by PG&E to use $80 million of customer money to pay for the process of re-licensing the plant for another 20 years.

As a part of ruling, the judge also told the power company that the on-going seismic studies must be completed before an application is resubmitted.

San Luis Obispo based watchdog group Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility filed the motion to dismiss rather than suspend PG&E's application. The power company isn't fretting over the decision and say the seismic testing is continuing.
