University And County Review Long-Range Plan

Written by KEYT Assignment Desk

UC Santa Barbara is looking at expanding their campus to accommodate close to 11,000 more students by the year 2015. It's all part of the university's Long-Range Development Plan.

The Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors are reviewing several proposals between the county and the university, which focus on concerns over the anticipated demand for law enforcement and fire service, associated with the expansion.

Part of an agreement struck between the county and the university, would require the school to foot the bill for any additional fire personnel.
