Thousands Stolen At Gay Pride Festival

Written by KEYT Assignment Desk

A struggling, local non-profit has more to worry about, after thousands of dollars were stolen during a fundraising event last weekend.

The Pacific Pride Foundation says over $6,000 was taken from a concessions tent during the groups annual Gay Pride Festival in Santa Barbara at Chase Palm Park.

It appears the thief actually cut a hole in the side of a tent, so they could reach in and grab the money off a table.

David Selberg, executive director says the group has set-up a recovery-relief fund to cover the loses. Group organizers hope the theft will not impact services offered to the community.
