Teachers Skip Class; Did They Do It In Protest?

Written by Jim Bunner

Lompoc- It was back to class today for 30 teachers at Cabrillo High School in Lompoc. Nearly half the staff did not show up Thursday in what's being described as a "personal necessity day." It's not clear whether any of them said they were sick.

All this comes after coach Gary West was placed on administrative leave. He and a student reportedly got into a fight that left the student injured and a window broken. The student has returned to school after a three day suspension. The incident is under investigation by not only the school district, but also the district attorney's office.
