Frozen Tamales Prompt Bomb Scare At Post Office

The Bomb Squad with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department is responded to the C Street Post Office in Oxnard after an explosion was reported at the facility.

Oxnard Police first arrived on scene and begin evacuating the building, and shut down several nearby streets, after employees at the post offices reported a small explosion.

Investigators say an employee heard several small pops from a box and then the box began to expand, that when they called police.

Upon further investigation, it was determined the package contained frozen tamales and dry ice.
