Suspect Sketch Release In Refugio Shooting

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department released a sketch of a suspect associated with a shooting that happened last Thursday near Refugio Beach.

A 27-year-old San Luis Obispo County man was shot in the leg, while parked on the side of Refugio Road on the afternoon of August 26th.

The victim told authorities he had been approached by the suspect who asked for help because his car had broken down. The suspect allegedly demanded money from the victim and then shot him after they reached his truck further down the road.

Authorities say the suspect is described as a white male, in his mid-to-late 30's, driving a red American-made pick-up truck.

Anyone with information about this crime should call the Santa Barbara Co. Sheriff's Department.
