Suicide Bridge Construction Continues Monday

Santa Barbara County - A project to install a suicide barrier on the Cold Spring Bridge on Highway 154 will continue January 30.

Motorists will encounter one-way traffic control and delays up to 10 minutes Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A grid mesh barrier will be installed on both sides of the Cold Spring Bridge, which has been the location of 55 suicides since it was opened in 1964.

This project is expected to be completed this spring.
