Sheriff's Deputy Facing Child Molestation Charges

A Ventura County Sheriff's deputy is under arrest, accused of sexually abusing a minor.

The Ventura County District Attorney's Office says 40-year-old Thomas Triplett, was taken into custody over the weekend following an investigation, that was launched after the alleged victim came to authorities.

Prosecutors say, Triplett is facing a number of charges including child molestation and sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

Triplett is being held on $800,000 bail and is due in court for his arraignment on October 26th.
