S.B. Sheriff's On the Look-Out for An Armed Bank Robber

The FBI is helping the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Department search for an armed bank robbery suspect.

And they believe this may not have been the suspect's first heist.

The robbery occurred just before 4:30 on Tuesday afternoon at the Santa Barbara Bank and Trust in the 14-hundred block of East Valley Road in Montecito.

Authorities are looking for a man with the backpack.. wearing a gray sweatshirt, gloves, sunglasses and black b-m-x style helmet.

The suspect flashed a small, black handgun at a teller.. grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash.. then took off on a purple b-m-x style bike.

During his escape, a small dye back slipped into the stolen money may have exploded.

Authorities urge anyone with information about this crime to contact them.
