SBIFF 10-10-10 Shows Off Student Filmmaking

Written by KEY News Staff

Santa Barbara - Local student filmmakers are getting their chance to shine at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

It's all part of the 10-10-10 competition, consisting of 10 student films that are 10 minutes long and students only have 10 days to make them.

All the students in the competition are a student at a high school or college in Santa Barbara County.

Today the student filmmakers were paired up with student film writers and then paired up with an industry professional and asked to make the best film they can make.

"The quality of the films that come out are really truly remarkable. This year were focusing on comedy and the scripts have been fabulous," said Guy smith, co-director of the 10-10-10.

The student films will play on Feb. 5 at the Lobero Theatre.

Admission is free.
