Written by KEY News Staff

Santa Barbara - After a violent assault, Santa Barbara Police have said that efforts to find the suspects involved in a hate crime on Jan. 1 are being backed by a large award.

The reward fund has grown to $7,500 in part from collections at the Wildcat Lounge and through the Gay and Lesbian Business Association.

Saturday a meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m. inside the Wildcat Lounge and then flyers will be handed out around downtown with information about the attack and suspect descriptions.

One of the two victims attacked on the corner of Ortega and Chapala Streets is recovering from a broken jaw and head injury.
