Residents Fear Rent Hike

Written by KEYT Reporter

Some local seniors are gearing up to fight a rent hike.

They live in the rent controlled Thunderbird Oaks Mobile Home Park in Thousand Oaks.

The owner filed an application with the city to raise rents by more than 320 dollars.

Some seniors have lived there for decades.

Others just moved in and say no one told them that rents could more than double.

Marge Hagy calls it elder abuse.

Co-owner Andrew Hohn could not be reached for comment .

Residents in Rancho Park also owned by Hohn are worried they will be next.

Seniors plan to attend a hearing on the matter at the Thousand Oaks City Hall October 5th.
