Written by Kateri Wozny

Santa Barbara - A powerful telescope will be the focus of attention at Westmont College Friday night.

The Keck Telescope will be available for viewing starting at 8:30 p.m.

According to Westmont Physics instructors, stargazers will have the opportunity to view the nearly full moon, the Great Globular Cluster, the Ring Nebula and Saturn's moons.

The observatory is open to the public every third Friday of the month. The viewing lasts for several hours.

Free parking is available near the baseball field.

In case of bad weather, visitors should call the Telescope Viewing Hotline at 805-565-6272 and check the Westmont website to see if the viewing has been cancelled.
