Police Searching For Suspect Who Stole Catalytic Converters

Santa Barbara - Santa Barbara Police are searching for a suspect for stole 13 catalytic converters.

The catalytic converters were stolen from Toyota 4Runners and Pickups between Dec. 1 and Feb. 3.

Santa Barbara Police officials say the platinum can be cashed in for about $40 or $50 at scrap metal yards. Pickups and 4Runners are more accessible because their undercarriages are high off the ground.

Officials suggested that owners of these types of trucks ask their mechanic to tack weld their converters.
