Written by KEYT Reporter

Santa Barbara - One of the more unique music events of the year takes place this week in Santa Barbara.

It's called the New Noise digital music conference. Organizers say it will be more than just a weekend of bands. The event will also include seminars, discussions and top business executives talking about the rapidly changing music industry.

"From the beginning, we wanted to have a lot of music but we also wanted to do educational panel topics discussing the future of sound. Connecting both local and national artists with companies like Pandora and companies like the Warped Tour," said Jeff Theimer, New Noise co-founder.

The event kicks off Thursday for four days.

In addition to the music from 50 bands, there will be panel discussions on topics including live music, touring, music apps, music in films and marketing.
