New Allegations Against Officer In October's Violent Arrest

Written by Assignment Desk

UPDATE: Santa Barbara - Attorney Darryl Genis tells KEY News that he does not represent one of two women who've come forward with their own accusations against Santa Barbara Police Officer Aaron Tudor.

Genis told a KEY News reporter on Thursday that he represented both women. He now says an alleged victim who claims Tudor stalked her on Facebook has hired another attorney instead.

Genis had been in court Thursday morning entering a not guilty plea for his other client Tony DeNunzio who is charged with several counts related to DUI. During that traffic stop DeNunzio claims Tudor used excessive force during the arrest at Loreto Plaza on Oct. 21. DeNunzio suffered a broken nose and broken ribs among other injuries.

The women who just came forward with new accusations include a 30-year old Santa Barbara self employed hair stylist who says Tudor arrested her for DUI on Nov. 17 and booked her into jail. Within hours of her release, the woman claims Tudor asked her out on Facebook and continued to stalk her after she rejected him.

Genis says one of the Facebook exchanges included a comment by Tudor to the woman, "Do you want to hang out? I do, just being honest." Genis also says Tudor suggested the two of them go to church together.

Genis also tells KEY News that he does represent a second woman who says Tudor broke her arm during another DUI traffic stop. He expects to file a formal complaint on her behalf as late as Monday. He also says both women are young and attractive.

Police Chief Cam Sanchez says neither woman has filed a formal complaint yet. However, Sanchez says they have known about the woman with the broken arm since shortly after it happened in mid-November. He says his office will investigate both complaints once they are filed and until then, officer Tudor will remain on duty.
