"Movember" Raises Money For Prostate Cancer

Montecito - Now that it's December the month of "Movember" is behind us.

That means all that extra facial hair will, if it hasn't already been, shaved. But the growing out period was all for a good cause.

It's another example of "What's Right."

The "Movember Effort" was started to raise money to fight prostate cancer and other men's health issues. The entire Montecito Fire Department took the challenge to grow out their mustaches and raised a grand total of more than $1,500.

Firefighters say they are already looking forward to next year when crews from the Montecito Sanitary District and Water District will compete along with them.
