Mother And Son Arrested In Tire Iron Attack

A 44-year-old Carpinteria man was attacked Tuesday night in the parking lot of a Von's grocery store after getting into an argument with another man.

According to authorities the victim, was beat-up by a mother, her son and another man with tire irons around 7:30 p.m. on the 100 block of S. Turnpike Road.

The victim, told investigators he got into an argument with 21-year-old Giovanni Aceves on his way into the store. That's when Aceves' mother Carmen and another man got out of a car and joined the fight.

The suspects allegedly ran back to their car, armed themselves with tire irons then beat the victim.

Santa Barbara County Sheriff deputies were able to apprehend all three suspects during a traffic stop shortly after the incident.
