Man Convicted of Raping An Oxnard Toddler

A man accused of kidnapping and raping an Oxnard toddler last year....could spend the next 50 years behind bars.

On Tuesday, a jury convicted 23-year-old Carlos Morales on charges of kidnapping and rape the child who was less than two years old.

Morales was found guilty of entering an Oxnard home and taking the young girl while she was sleeping between her mother and father.

Once police tracked him down later that night, they found evidence that Morales had sexually abused the child in his car.

Morales is scheduled to be sentenced on August 27th.
