MEGA Millions Ticket Winner Comes Forward

Written by KEY News Staff

Lompoc - The winner of a lucky lottery ticket that was purchased at a market in Lompoc has come forward.

California Lottery officials say Amelia V. won $227,823 by matching five out of six numbers in last Tuesday’s MEGA Millions draw. The ticket matched the numbers 3, 27, 5, 10 and 26, missing only the Mega number of 27. She purchased the ticket at Carbaugh's Market in the 1000 block of N. "A" St.

Amelia credits her 12 grandchildren for her luck, saying she always uses the birth dates of her grandkids to pick her lottery numbers.

When asked what she was going to do with her winnings, Amelia said she would love to celebrate by taking a family vacation to Disneyland with her husband, three children and 12 grandchildren.

Tuesday night's MEGA Millions jackpot will be $72 million. The estimated cash option is $52,400,000.
