Kobe Raises Money For Local Youth Organization

Kobe Bryant has been in Santa Barbara all week for his basketball camp at UCSB, but more importantly, to spend time with and inspire local kids.

This is the first year of the camp being in Santa Barbara and Bryant says, it certainly won't be the last.

Today he spent time to raise for money for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Barbara County.

Several hundred fans, kids and adults gathered at the Boys and Girls Club in Santa Barbara to have lunch with the five time NBA champion.

Since its inception in 2007, The Kobe Bryant Basketball Academy in conjunction with the star's Family Foundation, has provided scholarships and awards to numerous children's organizations.

This year two local recipients were also given the opportunity to attend the camp at UC Santa Barbara.

Today's event generated tens of thousands of dollars for the local organization.
