Injured Hiker Rescued

Written by KEYT Producer

Crews rescued a hiker injured on a popular local trail Saturday.

It happened around 12:40pm on the Tunnel Trail in the Los Padres National Forest.

Santa Barbara County Fire officials say a 62-year-old man was hiking along the trail with a partner, when his partner fell.

When the man went to help his partner, he fell himself, injuring his arm.

Santa Barbara County Fire, County Sheriff's Search and Rescue, and the National Forest Service worked to find the injured hiker.

He was rescued by helicopter and released on his own.
