Highway 101 Repaving Project To Begin After Two Week Delay

A major paving project to improve 8.5 miles of Highway 101 stretching between Santa Barbara and Goleta will begin today, according to Caltrans.

The project to repave and repair the highway between Milpas Street in Santa Barbara and Patterson Avenue in Goleta had been slated to begin earlier this month. The project was was put on hold because of delays with the delivery of materials the construction site.

Construction work will take place Sunday through Friday, between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorist can expect delays of up to 15 minutes in both directions, because of lane and ramp closures.

Caltrans says the project is slated for completion for March of next year.
