Green Housing Development Debuts

3-D technology is being used as a sales tool for a new green development of townhomes in Santa Barbara. The Santa Barbara East Beach Collection Community is under development.

All 48-townhomes will be built to meet green standards.

The homes will be all electric and equipped with solar panels that could cut the home owners energy bill by 80-percent.

To get the full effect, potential buyers are given 3-D virtual tours of the homes in upgraded shipping containers. The property sits at the intersection of Montecito Street and Calle Cesar Chavez.

All 48 units are expected to be completed by this time next year.
