Free Tax Filing Help For Locals

It's a daunting task that comes around once a year, filing your taxes. Saturday, The United Way gave a helping hand to Santa Barbara residents to take some of the pain out of the process.

The United Way, with help from The Housing Authority of The City of Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara High School Dons' Net Cafe held its first annual "Mega Tax Day" to take some of the pain out of the process.

Residents with income less than 49 thousand dollars sat down with trained volunteer tax experts who went step-by-step through the process of preparing and filing a tax return, and e-filing all for free.
