Free CPR Training In Santa Barbara County Today

Santa Barbara County - Looking to learn how to do CPR? Santa Barbara County Emergency Medical Service agencies are offering a free hands-on training Tuesday.

The training will be conducted by the American Medical Response, CALSTAR, Carpinteria/Summerland Fire Department, Guadalupe Fire Department, Montecito Fire Department, Santa Barbara City Fire, Santa Barbara County Fire, Santa Maria City Fire and Lompoc Fire Department.

The training will last for five minutes and occur from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the following locations:

- Santa Barbara City College
- Magnolia Shopping Center
- Paseo Nuevo Mall - Santa Barbara
- North Broadway Shopping Center, Santa Maria
- Santa Maria Town Center Mall
- Costco, Santa Maria
- Santa Maria YMCA
- Albertsons Store - Carpinteria
- Main St. Market - Guadalupe
- Guadalupe Community Health Center
- Montecito Village - Upper Village
- Costco Shopping Center - Goleta
- Albertsons Store - Orcutt
- Albertsons Store - Buellton
- Santa Maria Town Center Mall Courtyard
- Vons Shopping Center - Lompoc

Heart disease is the leading cause of death nationally and locally, with an estimated 630,000 deaths per year in the United States and over 700 deaths per year in Santa Barbara County.
