Faria Slaying Documents Released

Written by KEYT Reporter

Faria Beach - It was a brutal attack that shocked local communities.
A father and a pregnant mother stabbed to death inside their home.

Now for the first time, we are learning more about those slayings from brock and Davina Husteds son who was inside the home at the time the intruder entered.

A judge unsealed court documents used to get search warrants and in those documents the son describes the night his parents were killed.

KEY News reporter Tracy Lehr has more in this online report:

Background:

Documents first obtained by the Ventura County Star says the May 2009 intruder demanded cash and jewelry. Brock and Davina Husted asked the man wearing a motorcycle helmet not to hurt their children.

Their nine year old son got his fathers wallet and his mothers cash. But when he went back to get his mother's purse he heard her scream.
The boy says he hid behind a couch until the intruder left. Then he found his parents bodies and woke up his 11 year old sister.

They locked themselves in their parents bedroom and escaped through the bathroom window to get help. Husted older brother said it brings back memories of the night it happened. Although the boy described the killer as a dark skinned African American with blue eyes, the prime suspect is white.

Deputies arrested Joshua Graham Packer after DNA evidence linked the 20 year old Ventura man to the crime scene. The trial is scheduled to start next year.
