FBI Releases 2011 Bank Robbery Statistics

Los Angeles - The FBI has released its bank robbery statistics for 2011.

FBI officials say a total of 4,699 bank robberies occurred nationwide. In California, 677 occurred, while two occurred in San Luis Obispo County, 12 in Santa Barbara County and 14 in Ventura County.

The FBI also released its 10 serial bank robbers. Of those 10 is the Geezer Bandit, who robbed the Bank of America in the 5800 block of Calle Real in Goleta on Jan. 28.

The Geezer Bandit is still at large.
