Driver In Tow Truck Crash Arrested, Faces DUI Charges

Oxnard Police say a tow-truck driver who hit a mother and her two toddlers in a cross walk was driving under the influence of drugs.

Investigators say 45-year-old Mehran Khamseh will face criminal charges.

It happened around 12:30 Tuesday afternoon at Simon Way and Vineyard Avenue.

Witnesses say the tow-truck driver hit the mother first, then her two kids who were in a stroller.

Police say the driver didn't stop and dragged the children under the truck for almost a quarter of a mile. They say Khamseh didn't stop until good Samaritans flagged him down.

At last check, the critically injured children are being treated at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and their mother remains at Ventura County Medical Center.
