Dogs Pose for Glamorous Photos Hoping for Adoption

Fancy presentation gets tails wagging and helps with new homes

Written by KEYT Reporter

Shelter dogs up for adoption don't usually look very happy in the pictures posted for potential new owners. But a local effort called "Shelter Dogs Rule" sheds some new light on the pooches pawing for attention.

Photographer Amanda Jones has taken pictures of several dogs from the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter in a loving project coordinated by volunteers Lynne Shaw and Janine Milne.

Color glossy photos of the dogs are now in many stores in the Santa Barbara and Montecito areas, along with information about the adoption process.

"She has a way of photographing them," said store owner Wendy Foster as she looked at several dog photos in her clothing store. "She goes into them so deeply and the individuality and it just goes into a depth that you really want those dogs."
