Delta Discontinues Service from Santa Barbara to Salt Lake City

KEYT Assignment Desk

After nine years of service, Delta Air Lines announced Wednesday it will discontinue scheduled Delta Connection flights between Santa Barbara and its Salt Lake City hub, effective Sept. 12, due to poor performance of the route.

Joe Espisito, managing Director ...Network Planning says...“Delta would prefer to continue serving the market, but we have made the difficult decision to eliminate our Santa Barbara service to better focus our resources on profitable markets".

Delta says it will proactively contact customers booked on Santa Barbara flights after Sept. 12 who have provided full contact information in their reservations to arrange alternate transportation or refunds.

Customers wishing to make changes to reservations booked after Sept. 12 can contact Delta Reservations at 1-800-221-1212.

Delta, via its Delta Connection carriers, has served the Santa Barbara market since September 2001.

Its current schedule includes flights operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest.

Delta will continue to serve Santa Barbara and the surrounding communities with more than 100 daily nonstop flights to the Los Angeles basin, as well as through our codeshare relationships with Alaska Airlines via Seattle and American Eagle via Los Angeles.
