Carpinteria - The Carpinterian of the Year Award went to two people this year when it was handed out Saturday night.

Wade and Roxanne Nomura were honored at the annual dinner for their contributions to the city in many ways, from service organizations to efforts that helped make newly opened Tomal Park a reality.

The Nomura's were given resolutions from the city, county and state assembly and House of Representatives as part of the community tribute.
