Businesses Cashing in on Film Festival

Late January event helps boost sales during normally slow month

Santa Barbara - Businesses on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara are expecting big crowds for the next 10 days during the International Film Festival.

It will be an economic boost for many restaurants that are planning special menus and also hosting parties linked to film events.

Some restaurant owners say they often have the stars coming in for a drink or a bite to eat as they come and go the theaters.
