UPDATE: Boathouse Fundraiser

Santa Barbara - A local restaurant has helped raise a significant amount to help out a family in need.

The Boathouse, a popular Hendry's Beach eatery, raised close to $8,000 Thursday and will is donate a portion of its sales to the family of Audelio Lopez, a former employee.

Lopez was killed when his truck slammed into a palm tree off of Las Positas last Thursday morning, while he was driving to work.

"He's got two small children under the age of six and a widow left behind and we're just trying to do anything we can to not only raise funds today, but take care of the family on an ongoing basis," said Adam White, Co-Owner.
