Big Deals On State Street

Things may be looking up, for businesses looking to set up shop in Santa Barbara's downtown.

State Street is Santa Barbara's main drag with many options to eat and shop. During the recession, we've seen restaurants and stores in the area come and go.

But what is bad news for one business may mean good news for another. During a Sunday stroll on State Street, shoppers pass by several vacant storefronts. One of them looks vacant, but not for long.

This week, U.S. Bank signed the largest downtown retail lease through Hayes Commercial Group, for this new location at the corner of State and Carrillo Streets.
