Chief of Naval Personnel Visits Ventura

The Navy's top personnel chief says he's proud of local Seabees for doing their part in the Gulf oil spill cleanup.

Vice Admiral Mark Ferguson talked about the gulf and Navy readiness after touring Ventura's new Veterans home.

Ferguson just returned from the Gulf where he witnessed
Navy engineers and sailors pitching in where ever they could.

The Vice Admiral said, "We've moved from Port Hueneme our barriers and equipment down there to help in the oil recovery effort to block the flow of oil on shore."

Santa Barbara's non-partison Navy League sponsored the event.

Ferguson says they Navy is doing its best to create green fleets.
The Vice Admiral says local bases are leading the way.
