A Goleta teacher and well-known local resident has been arrested for alleged child molestation.
The Ventura Police Department says it wrapped up an investigation of lewd acts upon a child involving 36-year-old Martin Corral of Ventura.
Corral is a school teacher who deals with kids at academic risk at El Camino Elementary School in Goleta School District.
Detectives served a search warrant at both Corral's home and his work place on Wednesday.

Superintendent Cathy Boomer says Corral is a popular teacher and is innocent until proven guilty. Corral is also recognized for his role in the community for being on the board of Directors for Old Spanish Days.
