Students Call For Immigration Reform

Written by KEYT Assignment Desk

Students united for immigration reform are gearing up for a nationwide rally on Saturday.

The students gathered on the campus of UC Santa Barbara to spread their message.

More than a dozen students spent part of their spring break at an immigration reform march on the National Mall in Washington D.C.

They say immigrants who graduate from California high schools cannot afford higher education because they are not eligible for financial aid.

Like health care reform, students say President Obama promised to pass immigration reform, too. They want the President to deliver on his campaign promise.

Undocumented students say they see it as a social justice issue not a political issue.
