Guardian Angels to Help Fight Crime

KEYT Anchor

Santa Maria - Members of the Guardian Angels met with Santa Maria residents Friday night. Some concerned citizens are exploring the idea of establishing a new, local chapter to help combat the city's growing gang and crime problem.

With little money to go around for more local law enforcement and programs, some want to know if the world renowned civilian crime fighting organization could help.

The Guardian Angels say their organization's mission is to be the vehicle by which good people can ban together for the common cause of safety.

Following their meeting with locals, Guardian Angels representatives joined locals on a patrol in Downtown Santa Maria and on the city's Northwest side.

Guardian Angels is a civilian crime fighting organization founded in New York 31 years ago.
