Policing St. Patrick's Day

Irish eyes were smiling Wednesday night while others were keeping a close look out for St. Patrick's Day celebration's that were going from green to red.

More than 40 of Santa Barbara's finest were on patrol. Many of them canvased the downtown entertainment district which was packed with green-clad party goers.

Minors in possession, potential drunk drivers and unruly crowds were all being watched out for by officers on foot, on motorcycle and in patrol cars.

Police meet with bar and restaurant owners monthly in order to stay up to date on upcoming events and plan for better security.
