State Of The City: Cuts Are Inevitable

Santa Barbara, CA-- About 350 business and community leaders started their day at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort. That's where Mayor Helene Schneider asked them to be part of a solution during the annual State of the City address.

Like most areas across the country, Santa Barbara is currently facing a multi-million dollar financial struggle.

In her state of the city address, Mayor Schneider said, the $9 million deficit can be cut, if service unions agree to some salary and benefit reductions. She says that includes police and fire employees, who previously have been spared.
