Teen Wounded in Suspected Gang Related Shooting

Santa Maria, (CA) -- Santa Maria Police are searching for suspects this morning following what they say was a gang shooting.

It happened last night around 8:20 p.m on the 1000 block of South Blosser street in the east alley near the 7-Eleven.

That's where police say an 18 year old Santa Maria resident was standing when a blue vehicle, possibly a ford mustang, approached slowly with four people inside. One suspect reportedly yelled a gang name and then shots rang out from inside the vehicle. One of the shots struck the teenager in the thigh.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
