Hot Prowls in Ventura's Britol Bay Neighborhood

Some local prowlers don't seem to care whether people are at home sleeping when they sneak in.

Ventura Police are investigating what they call "hot prowls" at two homes on Woolvereen Street.

While residents slept Saturday morning burglars got in through their back windows and sliding glass doors in two story homes.

Neighbors in the Bristol Bay area say they are taking extra precautions to secure windows and doors.

One of the victims who woke up when she heard the burglar downstairs called the 9-1-1 and then locked herself her the bathroom. The suspect got away.
