Bulb Outs Stirring Up Controversy

Santa Barbara, CA-- A recently approved condominium project on Milpas Street has some residents trying to put the brakes on a side walk extension, called a bulb out.

Opponents say it's not necessary, and it will crunch vehicle traffic, pedestrians and bicyclists together. They've even marked the street with chalk to show where the concrete and landscaping project will end up.

However, supporters say it will make the street much safer.

Opponents plan to appeal the project in front of the City Council on March 23rd.
