State Street Beating

A brutal attack on State Street has Santa Barbara Police searching for a suspect tonight. As KEY News reporter Ben Howell reports the victim suffered serious injuries.

The Santa Barbara Police Department responded to the 500 block of State Street around 1:00 a.m. this morning after witnesses say the saw David Kuhns, a 24 year old Goleta resident attacked by two men.

Santa Barbara Police arrested John Foisy at the scene and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon, battery with great bodily injury and possession of marijuana.

The other suspect involved fled the scene and was described as a black male in his 20's wearing a blue, black and white pin stripe shirt.
The victim was taken to Cottage Hospital after suffering facial injuries, his condition is unknown.

Just around the same time along the 600 block of State Street a man smashed a window at a local dentist office leaving a trail of blood on the populated street.

Locals who work along State Street say that crime during the night has been a growing problem and want to see police step up their force over the weekends.
