For nearly a year, local business owners along lower State Street have starred into a massive dirt hole.

However, the La Entrada Project received a green light from city administrators, to give the area a much needed make-over.

The proposal calls for a 123 room hotel, over 19,000 square feet of commercial store front and a new parking structure. It will also include an upgrade to the California Hotel, along with restoring and re-landscaping lower State Street.

The city has placed strict terms on the project. Mountain Funding must submit their preliminary designs by September 30th. If approved by the City Council and the Historic Landmark Commission, construction could begin in December of 2012.
