Drug Sales Bust Ends With Young Children Sent to CPS

Three Ventura County residents are under arrest after law enforcement officers discover methamphetamine, cocaine, hundreds of dollars in cash and two young children inside their home.

The Ventura County Auto Theft Task Force arrested Juan Antonio Ruiz, 36, Maria Ruiz, 30, and a juvenile, after serving a search warrant the a home on the 3600 block of Santa Clara Ave. near the City of Oxnard.

During a search of the home, investigators found 1/4 pound of methamphetamine and nearly an ounce of cocaine with more than $600 in cash. Scales and other items indicative of illegal drug sales were also discovered.

Two young boys, ages three years and three months, were also found at the home. It was unclear who was the parent or legal guardian, and the suspects were uncooperative in answering any questions regarding the children. Both boys were turned over to Ventura County Child Protective Services.

All three suspects will be charged with possession and sales of controlled substances and child endangerment. All three have been booked into the Ventura County Jail.
